Specializing in  Therapy for High Achievers

Anxiety

"Do it or don't do it -

you will regret both."

- Soren Kierkegaard

Anxiety often has a way of kidnapping us from the present, to worry about the future, but it doesn't have to control your life. I can help you manage anxiety and regain a sense of calmness and control. I have found there are multiple ways to deal with anxiety. I invite you to explore what ways work best with you.

Perfectionism

"The pursuit of perfection often impedes improvement."

- George Will

Perfectionism is commonly found in high achieving individuals. While the pressure to succeed can be a strong motivator, it can also be detrimental to the pursuit of our values. Research has shown as life has become more challenging cultural and social pressures have also increased. Feeling like we can't live up to our own expectations can lead to decrease sense of self-worth and increased doubt.

Relationships

"The day you stop working on your relationships is the day your relationships stop working for you." - Brian Raines

Relationships take work! I focus on understanding what each party wants out of the relationship, cultivating stronger connections, and strengthening meaningful connections. You don't have to be in crisis to seek relationship therapy, sometimes people want to improve what they have.

Grief

Coping with loss is a profound and common experience as part of the human condition. Whether it be the passing of a loved one, the end of a relationship, or something else, they are all significant losses of connection with others. I find it important to recognize how different cultures influence and move us through the grieving process. Understand that whatever your loss is, you don't have to carry it alone.

Imposter Syndrome

Have you ever found yourself in the midst of a challenging academic, career, or personal life endeavor, only to question your ability or if you belong there? Did you feel like a fraud, despite evidence to the contrary? Imposter syndrome is a phenomenon where individuals experience persistent and sometimes pervasive doubt, despite their qualifications, successes, or experience. I would be honored to show you it doesn't have to be this way.

Cultural Experiences

As a therapist who views others through cultural humility, I strive to understand your culture and identities. My training and experiences in the therapy room have provided me with the opportunity to meet with clients from all over the globe. In my time, I have worked with people who are Asian, Asian Indian, Black, Desi, Hispanic, Middle Eastern, Persian, Pacific Islander, Native American and more.

Experienced with the following populations:

College Students

College is an inherent time of transition, growth, and above all stress. I have worked extensively with college students dealing with a variety of issues like anxiety, depression, ADHD, academic stress, cultural/family stressors, and grief. Receiving support throughout your studies may lead you to better academic success.

Lawyers/Law Students

Lawyers and law students deal with distinct challenges and stressors in their careers such as the BAR exam, court room stressors, and life/work balance. Burnout is a common, yet avoidable, experience for those practicing law. You deserve a therapist who understands the pressures and nuances unique to your field.

Healthcare Professionals

Doctors, nurses, PAs, dentists, and the like are a unique breed of people who carry great weight on their shoulders. We rely on them to be ready at a moments notice to take care of others. But who takes care of them? I believe therapy for healthcare professionals needs to acknowledge and understand the great strain and expectations placed upon them.

First Responders

First responders often deal with untold daily stress, high pressure environments, and hold space for both wonderful and traumatic situations. Left unchecked, these experiences can lead to difficulty sleeping, addictive behaviors, relationship problems and interfere with daily functioning. I offer you space to process and understand your experiences without judgement.

Veterans

For many veterans, leaving the military can be a trying time, mixed with emotions and uncertainty. As a veteran myself, I understand no two vet experiences are the same. Some vets may experience loss when leaving, others may have had unpleasant experiences and couldn't get out soon enough. My veteran clients express appreciation for the way I understand them and help them navigate life in the civilian world.

Therapists

I have been fortunate to attain experience in providing therapy to social workers, therapists, psychologists, and other mental health professionals as part of my training, post-doc, and work experience. Providing therapy can be challenging and take a lot out of us.  You deserve to have your own therapists who keeps you grounded while you hold space for so many others.
